23rd November 2012 –  Round Seven Report

The final round of pool play in Scarbro Caro Bowl was played out in near perfect conditions.

Parnell defeated Blockhouse Bay by 3 games on a count back in a top of the table clash in the Men’s Scarbro Caro Bowl competition played before a large crowd in perfect conditions on Friday evening.  The two bonus points earned from the victory left them one point behind Blockhouse Bay and both teams will have home ties in the semi finals next Friday.  Cockle Bay cemented a place in the semis by defeating Royal Oak 5-1 and the final spot went to Remuera who had a good 5-1 win over Kohi with Dan King-Turner back at number 1.

Sunnyhills, playing in the Women’s Scarbro Caro Bowl for the first time in the club’s history, finished round robin play at the top of the table and will play defending champions Kohimarama in the semi finals.  Parnell finished in second place just the one point behind Sunnyhills and will square off at home against old foe Royal Oak in the other semi final next Friday.
